Kenny Pikes 200 Inch Giant!

So far here at Campbell Illinois Whitetails we have had one of our best seasons ever!! We have had several bucks taken in the 160 – 170 inch range and a big congratulations to Kenney Pike and Jody Watson on their accomplishment during the 2007 Price Pfister firearm challenge.
 Kenney took his largest buck ever here at Campbell Illinois Whitetails. The buck, with a green score of over 200 inches, was a main frame 12 point with several extra scoreable points. With only a 14 inch inside spread, Kenney really didn’t know what he had at first, but now has a new respect for how much heavy mass adds to a deer’s score!! Then add the fact that his partner, Jody got the whole thing on video and they have accomplished something done by few hunters!!!!!!
Starting on December 24th 2007 the Campbell Outdoor Challenge will air Monday mornings on the Outdoor Channel. This time slot is just temporary until programming can find us a more primetime airing. We are happy to partner with Outdoor Channel, and offer “The Sport of Filming Hunts” to a much larger audience!!
We would also like to welcome our newest participant in “The Sport of Filming Hunts,” country music singer and comedian Kevin Blake Weldon. Weldon was a recent participant in our Archery Whitetail challenge. Kevin’s “Bad Bob and Jimmy” CD’s feature comedy songs about hunting and the outdoors. The 2007 Archery Whitetail challenge will air in 2008 on the Campbell Outdoor Challenge.
We have made many changes this year at our outfitting facility and with over 20,000 acres of prime big buck territory, things are better than ever. This year we added an additional 7 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a sheltered porch and a fire pit. We remodeled our game room to include a new pool table, darts, and a deer hunting arcade game. Other additions this year to accommodate the now 51 bed lodge include an industrial washer and dryer, fountain soda machine, buffet bar, and a newly constructed video camera showroom, stocked with everything and anything a person needs if you plan to film your hunts while you are here.
Through our game management practices and lack of hunting pressure on our areas, hunters will have better odds of taking the buck of a lifetime. We have several hundred acres of food plots and strips planned for 2008. We are putting in more time and effort than ever before on stand placement and shooting lanes to maximize your success.
